Where are you from? How long have you lived in the Valley? Originally from Armenia, which is in the Caucasus region between Asia and Europe, I moved to the United States almost 30 years ago settling in the Los Angeles area. Then when my family moved to Phoenix 18 years ago, I followed them. Family is so important to me.
What services do you specialize in?
Lots of services: facials, HydraFacials, Microdermabrasion, Derma peels, waxing, pedicures and nails (but no acrylics).
Which is your favorite service or technique and why?
I enjoy ALL facials, but my favorite part is the extractions. I believe in them. Extractions are good for your skin, and I love to remove all the stuff clogging my clients' pours.
Tell us something few people know about you.
Well, some people might know this, but I was very busy in Hollywood and had many stars, producers, and writers on my table. Some of the famous people I have worked on are: Roger Moore (James Bond/OO7), Nicholas Cage, Paula Abdul, and recently Johnjay of Johnjay & Rich has been getting my facials. Once Downtown Julie Brown from MTV called me "the Sexiest Armenian Lady" - I love that!
What would you do if you weren’t an aesthetician?
If I was not an aesthetician, I probably would have been a doctor. I like taking care of and helping people.
What’s your secret talent?
I read people's coffee cups*. I have been doing this for 32 years. When I see their cups, I can see everything about their personality. People tell me that I have a gift for it.
* [Tasseography or Turkish coffee fortune telling starts with the Turkish coffee which leaves a thick, muddy sediment at the bottom of the cup. If you swirl the cup and turn it upside down the grounds will fall down. They will leave some patterns on the surface of the cup. It is these patterns that help with individual reading.]
What’s the best advice you can give someone on your table?
You NEED to take care of your skin. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize ... and wear sunscreen. Spend the money on good products, it makes a difference. If you don't know what products to get for your skin, I can help you, but I would recommend that everyone start with a HydraFacial.
