Not everyone has the luxury of being a day spa connoisseur, although we call all agree that it is a great goal to have. Even if you are a spa frequent flyer, every day spa has nuisances to consider. Here are some tips to make your experience at Millennium more enjoyable.
Check us out. We are happy to give you a tour of our facilities. Tours are best during beginning of the week, like Monday and Tuesday when you have a greater chance of seeing a treatment room.
Book ahead. Schedules can fill up quickly. If there is a certain time or day you want or technician you want, call early.
Don’t overindulge. The day of your visit, limit heavy meals, caffeine and alcohol. They'll make it harder to relax and maximize the full experience.
Arrive on time. Ten or 15 minutes can be enough depending on your treatment. You may need a few minutes to fill out paperwork the first time or to slip into a robe and put your valuables in a locker.
Turn off your phone. This is your time to disconnect and recharge. You can't relax if you're answering calls, checking emails, and texting in the spa -- and neither can the person next to you.
Try something new. We are all guilty of always booking the same spa treatment when we get the chance to go. Mix it up and try another service or different technician. You’ll never know if a service will become your new favorite.
Speak Up. Feel free to let the therapist know about anything you would like to be different or let them know about your aches, pains, areas that need attention -- more pressure, less pressure, quieter music, a blanket if you're cold. Your comfort and enjoyment are among our greatest concerns.
What to tip. Tipping etiquette for spas is the same as you would apply for restaurant service. 15-20% is customary, unless it is noted that the service includes gratuity. If you ever feel like a technician does not deserve a tip, share your experience with management – they will want to hear your feedback to rectify the situation for you.
Extend the treatment benefits. Allow yourself a little time to relax and relish the moments of calm. Drinking water or herbal teas will also help flush out toxins.
Commit to yourself. Don’t limit your spa days to the occasional out of town guest. Make yourself a priority and schedule the time.
Get social. Follow your favorite spa (like Millennium) on social media. Often spas will let followers know about special promotions first. Take advantage of it.
